Plans for over 30 homes for social rent on empty land in Castlemilk have been given the go ahead.
Glasgow City Council has approved an application from AS Homes Scotland to develop land off Glenacre Terrace.
Craigdale Housing Association are set to manage the development, which will include a mix of houses and flats.
The application stated the project will see 31 affordable homes delivered, with 15 two-storey houses, four two-storey cottage flats and 12 flats in a four-storey block.
Plans add the homes will all be available “for social rent… and will be a continuation of a previous phase of development nearby, contributing to the ongoing regeneration of the area”.
“Overall, the proposal will create a welcoming and attractive residential area with well integrated and usable open space and landscaping areas,” they add.
The development will also include 31 car parking spaces, including three accessible spaces.
“The site is located within the established residential area of Castlemilk and has been designated for housing within the council’s housing land audit for a number of years,” the application continued.
“There is more recent housing by Craigdale Housing Association located over the road on Glenacre Terrace incorporating two four-storey flatted blocks.”
