Coach operator Scottish Citylink has increased the frequency of journeys on its Service 900 route between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The route will now run services up to every 12 minutes a peak times, delivering even more services each day for customers.
The increased frequency will add almost 650 extra seats in each direction to the route every single day. There are now up to 5 coaches operating per hour between Baillieston and Glasgow and 8 coaches per hour between Harthill and Glasgow.
Citylink’s updated timetable on the Service 900 comes months after the company introduced a £7million fleet of 18 brand new Volvo 9700 vehicles to the route earlier this year.
The 81-seat coaches boast reclining seats with three-point seatbelts and footrests. They also feature USB and USB-C charging points, fold-down tables, and a camera mirror system. The upper deck includes a panoramic roof.
Service 900 which has been running for 30 years and is one of Scotland’s most frequent coach routes, operating 24 hours a day. The service is operated on Citylink’s behalf by Stagecoach West Scotland and Parks of Hamilton.

“This timetable update provides even more capacity on the route, and means that, at peak times, customers will have to wait a maximum of 12 minutes before the next services is due to depart. It’s another example of how we are continuing to make improvements to our services for our customers.”
Citylink’s Service 900 operates up to every 12minutes, 24 hours a day and offers a day return from £10.
