Glenwood Business Centre
Written by Local Democracy Reporter, Catherine Hunter
Office buildings in Castlemilk leased by Glasgow City Council on behalf of the Health and Social Care Partnership (HCSP) have had their lease extended for four more years.
The HSCP is responsible for managing community health, adult social care, and other support services to help people live safely and independently.
Members of the contracts and property committee agreed to a long-term let at Glenwood Business Centre of suites A1-5, A6-8 and A15-16 which has been leased for the HSCP since 2010 when the property was owned by Jobs and Business Glasgow (JBG).
JBG sold the property in 2024 to Revco Commercial Ltd, and the leases transferred to the new owners on the existing terms and conditions.
The initial leases were short term monthly agreements, and the rent had not been reviewed since 2015.
The new landlords’ managing agents have since contacted Glasgow City Council to advise that the Landlord was no longer offering short term leases and provided new terms should GCC wish to continue occupying the property.
The local authority reviewed the service and confirmed that they wish to retain the space as the service provided is specific to the Castlemilk area.
During the contracts and property committee members agreed that rent for Suite A1-5 would be £16,260 per annum, for Suite A6-8 – £10,680 per annum and for Suite A15-16 – the new rent will be £6,860 per annum.
Members also asked how these prices compared to previous years and information will be provided at a later date.
