Community groups and not-for-profit organisations across East Dunbartonshire are being invited to a free event offering advice on funding and support.
East Dunbartonshire Council’s annual Funder Fair will take place at the Kirkintilloch Campus of New College Lanarkshire, 50 Southbank Road, Kirkintilloch, G66 1NH, this Thursday (September 10) from 4pm to 7pm.
The event is aimed at local organisations carrying out community work, as well as those with ideas for projects that could benefit residents or inspire positive change.
Representatives from a range of potential funders and support organisations will be in attendance, including The National Lottery, Development Trusts Association Scotland, Corra, Creative Scotland, Co-op, sportscotland and East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action.
Book a free place through Eventbrite.
The event will also provide information on East Dunbartonshire Council’s new Local Community Grant Fund, which is designed to support community groups and “unsung heroes” working across the area’s towns and villages.
Councillor Gordan Low, Leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said the Funder Fair was now in its third year.
“We hope as many organisations as possible can attend the ever-popular Funder Fair,” he said.
“As well as liaising directly with potential sources of support, groups can also learn more about our Local Community Grant Fund, which is currently accepting applications.
“Even small ideas can make a huge difference – come along and find out more.”
The Local Community Grant Fund offers organisations the opportunity to apply for grants of up to £4,000 for projects that bring people together, improve wellbeing, reduce isolation or support children, young people and families.
Funding can also be used to help people who may face barriers to taking part in community activities.
The first round of applications closes on September 21, 2026.
To be eligible, organisations must have a constitution and bank account, operate on a not-for-profit basis, provide independently verified accounts and demonstrate that their work benefits residents of East Dunbartonshire.

Groups unable to attend the Funder Fair can contact the council’s Community Planning team by emailing communityplanning@eastdunbarton.gov.uk or calling 0300 123 4510.
