Council tax bills and water charges are increasing for Glasgow residents from April.
Glasgow City Council passed a budget on Tuesday which included a 5.9% council tax increase to raise an extra £17.1m.
It has plans to invest in more free school meals, gully cleaning and the city centre.
Scottish Water, which is publicly owned, had already agreed to increase prices by 8.7% from April. Council tax bills in Scotland also include water charges.
The combined annual council tax and water charges for households in Glasgow from April are:
Band A: £1,572.21
Band B: £1,834.25
Band C: £2,096.28
Band D: £2,358.32
Band E: £3,038.77
Band F: £3,714.49
Band G: £4,428.12
Band H: £5,484.34
City treasurer Ricky Bell, SNP, said his budget “invests in cleaner neighbourhoods, better roads, stronger support for vulnerable people, improvements to the city centre and meaningful action on poverty”.
“It reflects the priorities Glasgow’s citizens consistently tell us matter most.”
Glasgow Labour’s finance lead, Cllr Catherine Vallis, said: “Families across Glasgow are already under huge financial pressure, and this council tax hike will hit them hard.
“People are being asked to pay more, but they are not seeing better services or delivery. Instead, they are seeing broken promises and failed leadership.
“Glasgow deserves better than rising costs and falling standards.”
