Two properties in Maryhill are set to be sold to a housing association by Glasgow City Council in deals worth almost £500,000.
Both homes, in a detached villa on North Woodside Road, would be purchased by Key Housing Association if councillors sign off on the plan this week.
They are currently home to people who “require significant levels of care and support” and the tenancies would remain in place after the sales.
The housing association, which offers housing to adults and young people who have disabilities and long-term needs, has acted as the care provider for the tenants within the properties for approximately 20 years.
It was approached by the council “regarding the potential purchase of the properties, enabling them to continue in their role as care provider whilst also assuming responsibility as landlord”, according to a council report.
The villa, just off Maryhill Road, is subdivided into two self-contained residential units. One of the homes is set to be sold for £255,000 while the other would be purchased for £240,000.
Council officials have reported: “The subjects are currently occupied by tenants who require care packages commissioned and funded by GCC.
“These tenants require significant levels of care and support, and maintaining stability and continuity of accommodation and care provision remains a key consideration.”
Councillors will be asked to back the deals at a meeting on Thursday. They previously granted approval for City Property, one of the council’s arms-length organisations, to enter negotiations with the housing association over an off-market disposal.
