Prime Property Auctions has moved to a larger headquarters in Glasgow in response to rapid growth since the turn of the year.
Previously based at West Regent Street in the city centre, the company has outgrown its home of two years and relocated to a modern facility at Academy Park Business Park, Gower Street, on the south side.
A flurry of hires over the past few months saw founders John Morris and Luis Guarin begin the search for a new base, and they couldn’t be happier with the new facility.
“We needed more space due to the growing numbers of staff,” said Mr Morris. “Since February, five new members of the team have come in and during that process it became clear we had outgrown our city centre office.
“As great as that location was, this allows us scope to grow even further. Moving out of the city centre gives us a lot more for our money, plus the office comes with parking. We have saved a lot on office rental and that has allowed us to invest in the staff.”
At 4500 sq. ft., the firm’s new headquarters is double the size of the West Regent Street office and can accommodate further recruitment when required – current staffing is sitting at 23 – as it continues its push to become the No. 1 property auction house in the UK.
The new HQ has a boardroom, kitchen and a lounge area where clients can come in to discuss things over a coffee, an important element of the move, said Mr Morris,
“While a lot of our deals are done online and over the phone, having that face-to-face contact with clients is important,” he said. “Our new office is a very welcoming space. It’s easily accessed off the M8 and M77, and the parking is a real benefit for clients compared to having to find a place in the middle of Glasgow!
“We are growing so rapidly as people like to deal with us. They will continue to come to us to buy and sell more properties and it was important for us to have an office which reflected our standing in the sector.”
Prime, which has been dealing in land as well as residential and commercial units across the UK since launching in 2022, has been selling an average of 35 properties per month this year.
“It’s great to see the continued growth and we want to keep that going,” added Mr Morris. “We are very ambitious and want to become the go-to property auction house in Britain.
“Our priority has always been to provide a good service. When we first started out Luis and I would train people and now those people who have been part of the team for a number of years are providing value to our customers with the knowledge they possess. We trust the team to do a lot of things, and that in turn is allowing Luis and I more time to work on the business and develop it further.”
