A total of 72 roads and 18 pavements will be resurfaced across East Renfrewshire during 2026/2027.
The programme of work will see projects carried out across all five ward areas, with improvements set to begin next month.
With a total investment of £4.5m in East Renfrewshire’s road network over the next 12 months, major routes, C class and unclassified roads will all be targeted.
An East Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said:
“As with previous years, the prioritisation of the resurfacing projects is based on a range of factors, including the structural condition of the road or pavement, its usage, cost of maintenance for the previous three years, number of complaints received and geographical spread.”
Alongside the resurfacing works, ongoing improvements will also be made to the area’s street lighting infrastructure over the coming year. This involves removing older lighting columns which use outdated overhead cabling and replacing them with new columns with significantly safer underground supply cables. A total of 20 projects have been identified for completion in 2026/27.
