ScotRail has once again been certified as a UK Top Employer, retaining its status for 2026 in recognition of its commitment to its people and workplace excellence.
The Top Employers Institute awards the certification to organisations that demonstrate high standards in areas such as people strategy, work environment, talent development, diversity and inclusion, and employee wellbeing.
Since 2024, ScotRail has increased its Top Employer score year on year, and for 2026 the train operator is six percentage points above the average score for all accredited organisations.
The recognition builds on ScotRail’s ongoing investment in its workforce, including in training and development opportunities, wellbeing support, and initiatives designed to support colleagues throughout their careers.
The programme has certified and recognised more than 2,400 Top Employers in 125 countries and regions across five continents.
ScotRail employs more than 6,000 people across Scotland, working in frontline and behind-the-scenes roles to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable rail services for customers and communities across the country.
Julie Dale, ScotRail HR Director, said:
“We’re proud to be recognised as a UK Top Employer for 2026 – our seventh successive accreditation.
“This accreditation reflects the commitment, professionalism, and dedication of our colleagues across ScotRail, along with our ongoing focus on creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging workplace for colleagues across Scotland’s Railway.”
